How to Set Up Your WellNatura Grounding Sheet in 5 Minutes
One of the most common questions we hear from new customers is "how hard is it to set up?" The honest answer is: not hard at all. If you can make your bed and plug something into a wall socket, you are already qualified. Here is a quick walkthrough of everything involved.
What comes in the box
Every WellNatura grounding sheet order includes the fitted sheet itself, a 5.5 metre grounding cord with a snap connector on one end and a UK grounding plug on the other, and a simple setup guide. That is everything you need. No tools, no complicated assembly.
Setting it up step by step
Place the sheet on your bed
Fit the grounding sheet onto your mattress just like any normal fitted sheet. It goes directly on the mattress, and you sleep on top of it. For the grounding to work, your skin needs to be in contact with the sheet, so sleeping in light clothing or with bare skin touching the sheet is ideal.
Attach the grounding cord
Find the small metal snap button on the corner of the sheet. Snap the connector end of the grounding cord onto it. It clicks into place just like a coat button. Takes about two seconds.
Plug into your wall socket
Take the other end of the grounding cord, which has a UK three-pin plug, and insert it into any standard wall socket. The plug is designed to connect to the earth pin and nothing else. There is no connection to live electricity at any point. The socket does not even need to be switched on.
Lie down and rest
That is it. Lie down, let your skin rest against the sheet, and the silver fibres in the fabric create a gentle connection to the earth's charge while you sleep. Nothing to switch on, nothing to monitor, nothing to adjust.
Helpful tip: The 5.5 metre cord is long enough to reach most wall sockets from your bed. If your nearest socket is behind furniture, you can use a standard UK extension lead. The grounding connection works through extension leads as long as the earth wiring is intact.
How do I know it is working?
The simplest way to confirm your setup is working is to check that your wall socket has a functioning earth connection. You can do this with a standard socket tester, which you can pick up from most hardware shops for a few pounds. Plug it in, and the lights will tell you straight away whether the earth is connected.
If you want to go a step further, you can use a multimeter to measure the voltage on your body before and after touching the sheet. Most people see a clear drop from around 0.5 to 1 volt down to nearly zero. It is a simple and quite satisfying way to see the connection in action.
Looking after your sheet
Caring for your grounding sheet is easy. Machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30 to 40 degrees. Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softener, or whitening agents as these can damage the silver fibres over time. Tumble dry on low or air dry.
With the right care, your grounding sheet will last for years.
Most of our customers tell us the setup takes less than five minutes from opening the box to lying down on the sheet. It really is that simple.
